I am a 40 year old single woman sharing my journey to become a mother using donor sperm.

Like so many women in the 21st century, of a certain age, who just haven’t found the right man or have been simply focused on their careers – the path to parenthood goes something like this: it’s me, a petri dish and a prayer.

Making the decision to go it alone has been daunting, terrifying at times, confusing and definitely not taken lightly. After a long year of self scrutiny and weighing up the possible pitfalls against the pleasures – I’m ready to go for it.

This is ‘my biological destiny’ and I want to share it with those who are facing similar situations. If you are experiencing a similar journey or even just considering it – please make contact. It may even help someone.

The decision to’go it alone,’ is of course one that shouldn’t be taken lightly. As friends of this brave adventurer my wife (of 29 years) and I will watch this journey with great interest.
Let’s hope we see the story continue from conception to birth and beyond.
All the best for your journey.
